Telemarketer Job Description

INDIVIDUALS WHO PLACE TELEPHONE CALLS TO CONSUMERS AND/OR BUSINESSES TO OFFER THEM PRODUCTS OR SERVICES

PCI is currently hiring, Shifts are from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm Monday through Friday & Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, every Saturday is a REQUIREMENT, 20 hours per week minimum is also required, including the Saturday shift.
 
 
  ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  
     
  1. CALLS PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMERS: Through use of a headset, computer and other equipment.

2. INFLUENCES CUSTOMERS TO BUY SERVICES AND MERCHANDISE: By following a prepared sales script to five service and product information and price quotations. Some scripts must be followed verbatim (word for word); however, many scripts are to be utilized as a call guide in making the sales presentation to the consumer or business. With this scenario, the telemarketer is required to be conversational.

3. COMPLETES ORDERS: By data entry of names, addresses, and other information. Refers orders for filling.

4. MAINTAINS SAFE, CLEAN AND PROFESSIONAL WORKING ENVIRONMENT: By complying with procedures and policies, and following maintenance instructions. Reports all malfunctioning equipment.

5. CONTRIBUTES TO TEAM EFFORT: By accomplishing related results including specified SPH (sales per hour), contact and conversion goals; by reporting to work at the specified times, working all scheduled shifts, and restricting unscheduled days off to an absolute minimum. Participates in and offers suggestions for Team activities and improvements.

 
  ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS – ABILITIES & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS  
     
  6. OPERATE EQUIPMENT RELATED TO TELEMARKETING: Requires ability to put on and wear a telephone headset, to hear and listen to customers through the headset. Must be able to read English language sales scripts displayed on a standard computer monitor, use a standard computer keyboard effectively and simultaneously with the headset and monitor. Record sales by operating a tape recorder.

7. WORK AT ASSIGNED WORK STATION: Sit on a standard office chair, at an assigned workstation, operating the equipment listed above under item 6. Work continuously unless released for rest and meal breaks at times determined by Team Managers. Employees may stand up occasionally, as long as duration and frequency of standing does not interfere with the employee’s job functions or the performance of the employee’s co-workers.

8. COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Must have a strong grasp of the English language. Must be able to read and follow written scripts, training materials, product information, and other written materials supplied by the company. Must be able to speak clearly so as to be easily understood both in person and on the telephone.

9. LEARNING SKILLS: Employees will be trained on many sales programs. Must be able to quickly learn new sales programs by absorbing and retaining instructions and information presented both verbally and in writing.

10. PEOPLE SKILLS: Must be comfortable working as part of a diverse employee base. Must be comfortable working on a wide variety of sales and other programs, entailing contracting a diverse customer base. The company does not tolerate discrimination or harassment of any kind.

11. EMPLOYMENT SCREENING: Must successfully pass a drug screening and a criminal background check reviewing local, state, and national records.
